The controversy following Kanye’s interruption on stage lead to his infamous self-imposed exile from the United States, flying to Japan to get away from paparazzi, he would later fly to Italy with the late friend and director Virgil Abloh to design clothes for the fashion brand Fendi. Ultimately this cancelled his joint tour with Lady Gaga to promote 808’s & Heartbreaks in October 2009.
